Being an Outsider
This week, we discussed “people pleasing” in the small (and lovely) online Courage Circle I facilitate and take part of every week.
I shared how it can sometimes feel like we are “outsiders” when we do not participate in this way of relating with others.
Then suddenly, I had a big laugh out when this thought came to me:
“I’m not an outsider…. I’m in INSIDER!”
I am able to find approval inside, take care of myself inside, find solutions inside, soothe and love myself inside and so on.
I love this term!
(Perhaps others have used it but I never heard of it).
Either way, I am definitely adding it to my new vocabulary for my inner and outer dialogue!
Thinking about people I’ve met over the years from this lens, I can now see that I have encountered many “INSIDERS”!
They are not usually the loudest, although they are not afraid to use their voice when they choose.
They experience calm, though they are not afraid of losing it knowing there is wisdom in all experiences, and they that they can find it again.
They listen deeply. They are curious and open.
Overall, I’d say they are people moving in the direction of being powerful.
On that note, it feels timely for me to share that I just released my latest book, POWER FULL.
As many things I’ve done the past 4 years, it took me tremendous personal courage to pull this together and I deeply appreciate so many people who have supported me to keep going (including all of you who are here every week with me).
It is a exploration of the difference between Power and Force, and an expression of my personal clarity of how Power always “wins” over Force.
If you are interested in adding it to your book collection, I’d be honored.
Wishing you a wonderful Sunday,
Sandy 🌹

This is a fresh perspective on people-pleasing/not people-pleasing!
Love this: "They experience calm, though they are not afraid of losing it knowing there is wisdom in all experiences, and they that they can find it again." -How beautiful!
Congratulations Sandy on releasing your new book Power Full! I have just ordered it and can’t wait to read it. Looking forward to your exploration of the difference between power and force; so important to explore the power from within to better ourselves and the world around us
